October 28, 2007

"Mom's home!". Each time Maureen comes home she yells this as she enters the house. Tellie barks and we all roll our eyes. Well she wasn't exactly yelling when she came home Friday night, but there was a big smile on her face (and everyone elses). We had a nice dinner together and spent a nice day together Saturday. Maureen walked the neighborhood a little and played her guitar.

Today (Sunday) we awoke around 6:30 am and Maureen was feeling some discomfort with fluid buildup again. Per Dr. Janicek's instructions, we headed to the hospital to have more fluids removed. This is not any alarm and might be expected until the 2nd chemo round. This always provides Maureen with relief and soon we'll be relaxing at home again.

We've had such good home care by sisters Catherine Billion and Carolyn Anderson. Sadly Carolyn headed back to MN today. Catherine is here for a few more days. My mom is coming in late tonight, so the care and coverage is excellent.

Fr. Effe stopped by last night, prayed with us all, lead us in song and gave Maureen communion. What a blessing he has been.

You've all been a blessing and I could never thank you enough. Maureen promises she will make this up to each and everyone of you. Let's get her healed up first! The fight continues. Mike.

Maureen,
I'm so happy to hear you're home and that you have your loving family around. Sharon will be a wonderful addition. It's so wonderful to read the messages and prayers from your family and friends...so much love. I tear up reading the message board...I've had to stop doing it at work! :)
We love you so much and love hearing about your progress. Keep it up, Mike! Love to you all.

Maureen, Mike and family:

I haven't sent a message in quite awhile - but that doesn't mean that we haven't been praying up a storm for you, your recovery and your journey back to health.

I have read over and over the messages you have been receiving from all over the world and they are truly moving. With all the prayers being sent your way the love is felt by all.

We are so happy that you were able to go home and send you warm thoughts, warm wishes and lots of prayers - which have been and will be continuing!

To Mike and the boys (and Katie too) our prayers are with you all every single day as you show your love and support to Maureen. Please give Maureen a hug for us. Glad to hear Sharon is arriving today, right?

Love to you all.

Paul & Judy Kludt and family

"We're Walking in Sunshine, ohooh!"

Wish everyone could have checked out Mike, Maureen and Telle on their first day of unlimted post-surg walks around the neighborhood on this beautiful, sunny Scottsdale morning. Maureen had to settle for the fishin' hat, to protect her fair, Irish skin from the rays, but she looks beautiful beyond words! What a healing gift it was, to experience a good night's sleep in her own bed, with the comfort of her husband by her side. Thanks everyone for the warm, prayerful wishes and Joe and Katie for the phone call at Maureen's breakfast table... perfect timing (my you keep late hours in Japan)!

Maureen is making a smooth transition between hospital routine and home care. God's peace be with you all.

Maureen,

Our throughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time. I found this Bible passage and thought of you!

"Be strong and courageous.
Do not be terrified;
Do not be discouraged,
For the Lord your God
Will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9"

Your faith is remarkable! We are happy to hear you are home. Keep up the good fight.

Lots of Love, Aaron, Elizabeth (Eisenbeis), Isabelle, Chloe and Javier Berg

We were happy to hear you can continue your treatment at home, always more restful than a hospital. We will continue to pray for your continued recovery.

Max and I were in MD to witness the birth of our first grandson, Coleman Walker Selig. Such a joy. God really does hear our prayers. He has to listen to all of us as remember you, Maureen. Maybe someday you can come with Mike to Florida to visit us. Lin Selig

still sending love...

Mom- everyday we are more and more proud of you and happier to hear of even more recovery. Yesterday we went to mass and you were in our prayers. We sang along with the Japanese guitar playing nuns, which made us miss you MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!! Thinking of you and love you!
