October 26, 2007

Maureen is going home today! I just received this news from Carolyn. We had a visit from the nurse practitioner (Kelly) who said everything is looking good. The lungs have cleared and the swelling is slowly going down. I know the first couple days will be a challenge at home, but we all miss her so much that we'll have additional energy to help. Catherine Billion came in late last night and along w/ Carolyn will also be with us through the weekend. My mom is flying in Sunday night, so we have the best care! This is a long road we're on with many ups and downs, but we're on our way. Thank you all for your support and prayers. Mike.

Congratulations Maureen on going home! So great to hear that you're doing better...just take it one day at a time :) When you get home be sure to rest, rest, rest so that your strength will continue to build up...I know that it will be tempting to try to tackle everything at home that you are used to doing, but just take it easy... Daily memories.... - Katie and Joe Casey
Ma, my favorite Halloween was when I insisted on being Shoeless Joe Jackson, not knowing how difficult and laborious the making of the costume would be on your behalf. Sorry. It was an awesome costume, though! Well, you've got plenty of time on your hands, now, so perhaps you can get to work on my costume for next year... I want to be a Spartan, just like in the movie. The muscles are already there, you just need to make the helmet and whatnot. Thanks, love ya!

Excellent!!!!! - Hope Rex
Hello Everyone in Sunny Scottsdale, We're thrilled you are well enough to go home... there is nothing like your own bed and all the comforts of home. Enjoy being together and utilize all the help you can. Meds included!!!! It's great to have your sisters around. Mike, Conor, and JP remember to rest up and refuel yourselves while you have the help so close. You all are doing so well pulling together. Maureen, it's a testament to you, reading all the wonderful, caring messages. Plus it's great to have so many prayers said on your behalf. Mike, freeze the extra food for later use... it will come in handy down the road. You are blessed to have so many wonderful people by your side. Enjoy today being outside, at home, and most of all together!! All our best, The Boston Rexes
