Yesterday, I had a dye test to see if the pockets in my abdomen are permeable. The results are not yet back, so we still don't know if they can perform chemo straight into the abdomen next week (Dec 4 is my next scheduled date).
The good news is they removed the catheter that I was using to drain the abdominal fluid, as it wasn't needed anymore. My abdomen can really begin healing from surgery now, and I'll be able to shower, etc in the next day or so. Unfortunately, they found an extremely low hemoglobin level, so I had a blood transfusion today.
Some of my energy is coming back. Tomorrow will be a good day!

Maureen - The Blessings of another day! Joan Lentner
Hi Maureen - It's Thursday and I wanted to let you know that I have visited the church a couple of times this week and have lifted you in prayer...feel those blessings. We are suppose to get some snow this weekend and I am hoping to get my Christmas decorations up and maybe even work on my cards...if that happens it will be very early for me. Just wanted you to know that you are thought of often and prayed for many times a day. Wishing you strength...just for today...and may this be a really good day for you. Our prayers will get you thru your next chemo on 12/4...God is going to carry you thru it. Joan, (LH-Mpls)

Greetings from Florida. Linda & Max Selig
So glad to hear your treatments are helping. The trouble with them is occasionally your counts get low. But transfusions and shots will help. Hopefully the next stage will go well for you and a year from now this nightmare will be a distant memory. We will pray that that is so. God bless all those you have given you and Mike the support you need right now. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful support system. Enjoy this season with all those you love you. Progress! Jacque Ingemansen
Good to hear your port is gone! We thank God for these little steps of progress on your journey. And who couldn't use a pint of blood now and then? This is just a support, helping you to stay strong to heal. Mom said you can wear your regular clothes now-- so you are back to your sassy self! That must be a good feeling. So Theresa will be down soon-- she is a good worker, -- take advantage of her energy! I am eager for my turn. Have a good day today-- hello to all. I love you.
Keep Hanging in There!! Pat Hennesy
Hi Maureen - Sounds like you're doing better after that last chemo treatment. Mike did a great job with the Thanksgiving Day dinner, I wouldn't mind having Pat give it a try one of these years! We're praying hard and know you'll come through this with flying colors. We love you, Pat and Kathy |
Fantastic Maureen. Elaine DuBois
I am so glad to hear that you will no longer be burdened by the tube in your stomach. Yipee! I am off to Florida to visit my parents for a few days so I will not be able to pick up updates until I return. I am so grateful for your messages as you are in my heart always. Bob and I will be married December 22nd. We have been so very happy, it is beyond words. My family prays for your family and wish you all peace. Love, Elaine
