November 20, 2007

Well, I am definitely feeling better today. It's been a good day of eating and getting some things done around the house, with nervous energy. Your prayers are being answered!

Mike has put me in charge of watching the turkey thaw. I'll do my best!

Love to all,
Maureen

Happy Thanksgiving!! Lisa Anderson
Dear Maureen, Mike and Family,
Once again, it is that time of the year to count our blessings and figure out how to "pay it forward". You two are such an inspiration to us all and I count myself blessed to know you. You are handling what would be such a difficult and stressful time for anyone with such grace and dignity... it puts the rest of us to shame!!
You are in our thoughts and prayers and we wish you a most blessed Thanksgiving and holiday season.
All Our Love, Tom and Lisa Anderson

Happy Thanksgiving Maureen (Mike, JP & Connor), Joan Lentner
I will be going up north to see the folks and to help with the Thanksgiving preparations. (My dad is 86 and my mother almost 77) With the help of a couple of my sisters we get the food prepared for 40-45 of us. I really enjoy the time together as life is very precious. I'm hoping and praying that you will be able to enjoy some of the Thanksgiving food. I will be lifting you in prayer as I celebrate mass with the folks. You are so special Maureen. And with chemo there are some pretty rough moments...so when you are down and out just know that the prayers are going. Wishing you from the bottom of my heart the happiest Thanksgiving possible. Remember it's just one day at a time. Some days the progress is only baby steps, but God is with you on all of the steps forward and occaisionally backwards. Your journey is definitely showing much light at the end of the tunnel and that is great encouragement. My Thanksgiving prayer will be that you have strength to really enjoy part of the day.
Joan , (LH - Mpls)

Happy Thanksgiving Caseys! Courtney Powell
Mike, Maureen, Joe, Katie, Connor and JP,
Just wanted to wish you all an early HAPPY THANKSGIVING! (We're getting ready to travel to Indiana for Thanksgiving with the Powells and for Steve's sister's wedding.)
Thank you for being an extra reminder that we all have so much to be thankful for! We pray for Maureen's continued improvement after chemo round 2, and that she will be strong enough for turkey and Grandma Casey's famous sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving day!
We love you!
Courtney, Steve, Alex and Gabe

A fond hello from the past. Robin Arterburn
Maureen,
I just heard of your illness and journey and found this site for updates. It's been a very long time and I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember me. I don't remember many things myself these days, but your photo and those of your family brought many happy memories back. JP was my daughter, Lauren's age and went to Pope John for awhile. We used to see you smiling in church and loved even more when you were all singing and playing various instruments.
I just wanted you to know that you are in our prayers every day! I added your name to my mom's name as you go through your chemo, she is going through hers. I feel your strength just through your updates, I feel certain that you'll feel continued faith and hope through all the love your friends and family bring to you.
God's blessings to you and your family through this difficult time.
Robin Arterburn (husband John, Lauren, and Natalie)

Giving Thanks for YOU! Judy Rex
So glad to hear that Margaret is there with you for this chemo installment - nothing like a sister to help you through the tough times. We'll be with the Casey family in spirit as we celebrate all that we have to be thankful for this year, including having you in our lives. Please know that you continue to be ever in our thoughts and hearts as we pray daily for your continued healing. Don't let those men eat all the turkey!
XOXO, Judy and Mike

Greetings from Roma! Erin Devitt
Hi Maureen & Mike...
Greetings from Roma, Italia. Just wanted you to know that I said a little prayer for you while @ St. Peter's yesterday. I know the big guy will hear me there! ;-)
Take care of yourselves and have a wonderful holiday!
Ciao, Erin Devitt

Blessings to you, Maureen and Mike. Clalien Dahl
What an inspiration you are Maureen. And you never lose your sense of humor. WE are all blessed by knowing you. Auntie Kay keeps asking if I hear anything about you, and I keep passing your messages on to her. We never forget to pray for you.

Happy Turkey Day! Anne Wolf
So glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better today. One day at a time, right? You have a team of people storming heaven for you every day. I know that energy will continue to lift you up. December 22nd...Caroling Party...you ARE going to be there! I just know it. Have a wonderful holiday with your family and take it slow and easy.

That's Great News ! Clint Gibson
Maureen - So thrilled that you had a good day. Mike is indeed one of the great turkey-thawers of our time. He probably got that skill from Joe and or Connor working at Houstons. It is a blessing to all of your family and friends to hear that you had a good day, and here is hoping that Thanksgiving will see continued improvement for you.
Love from Judy and me, Clint
