November 05, 2007

We found out last night that home maintenance has no sympathy for the sick. Mike and I discovered a water problem under the kitchen sink, and subsequently worked together to replace our garbage disposal. It took a few hours, but it is done. A little time on the floor helped me stretch some muscles that I had forgotten about.

The sun was warm and glorious today. The light is shining on me!
Love and blessings,
Maureen

Warm Up Your Voice

Maureen, You have been in our thoughts and prayers so much. I'm so glad that you're home and you sound like you're keeping your spirits up. As I said in my card, the Caroling Party is this year so I think you should be taking this valuable time to be practicing your Christmas songs! Keep thinking your positive and healing thoughts. Know that all those same thoughts are surrounding you. Can't wait to see you! Much love, Anne

Maureen,
First of all, love the picture of the cherry blossoms! I'm glad to hear you continue to take steps forward, and I don't doubt you for a second! God Bless, and know that you are in my prayers!

I love your pictures!!!

How great to get your message Maureen! (Being the photo fanatic that I am, of course I'm LOVING the pictures you posted to the website...they're great!) Sounds like the cather will bring some relief and will keep you from having to run to the hospital so frequently for the draining (my mom went through that with fluid around her lungs). The Lord is good and He does have a plan...we just don't always know what it is :) Know that you and Mike continue to be in our prayers. One day at a time dear...one day at a time. --Hugs to you.... --Denise

Maureen, Mike, and Family,
We are so thankful for Sharon and her willingness to take such sweet care of you. We know you are going to miss that. Wish I could have given Sharon a hug - but that'll have to wait until I see her again. Please know that your cheerleaders are lined up across the world routing for your wellness. Know that we're with you for the journey - you can't get rid of us, not even for even one minute. Wishing you peace today (your first day, kind of alone), and healthful (watch that nutrition), and spiritual (we'll take care of the prayers) rejuvination. Every breath, lifting you up ... Love you, love you, love you.

Hi Maureen! It was so good to read your post and hear that you're up and around...and that your wit is intact! We've been pretty consumed with parental health issues here, but are keeping close tabs on your progress and sending lots of prayers your way! We love you more than we can say, and send our most loving and earnest thoughts and prayers to you and your family!
We're planning a touch football game over Thanksgiving in Chamberlain. I hope to catch Ryan and Erin on tape, making out in the huddle, a la Mike and Maureen, circa 1981.

Hi Maureen and Mike-
So glad to hear that you are moving along the road to recovery. Things as you know, have been really crazy up here. We buried Dad on Friday and my brother's mother-in-law today. We are doing okay. Dad was so ready to go home, and though we will all miss him, it does give me comfort to know he is not in pain anymore. Have been thinking of you so much and several times during the day, I'll say a little prayer for you--kind of a time-release prayer through-out the day! Love you so much, Bev

Was thinking about you this very moment and wanted to reassure you that you are on the road to recovery...at a slow pace, but definitely going forward. I to remember the feeling after my surgery and I was on my own. Laying on the couch and having family and friends wait on you is pretty darn nice. I read the update and am encouraged again. Taking those walks and getting out of the house gives one a whole new outlook on the day. Pretty soon you will be running a marathon :)
Just wanted to let you know that the prayers are going. I was at church a number of times this past weekend and you were lifted in prayer. May this be one of those really good days for you where you :) smile often.

A little bit of plumbming

Maureen, Mike and Family ....
The evening that Mike and JP came into the hospital after their plumbing adventure is etched in my mind forever. They had success !!! but they sorely missed their even keel engineer. Their victory allowed new energy to radiate toward the prized target - it was all about YOU Mau. Glad to know that you're back in business (congrats again MIKE) but please >>>>take it EASY !!!<<<<< Baby steps ... we've got your back. Love you sis.

Good for you!

Maureen,
So glad to hear that you're out of bed for some of the day. I bet the weather is perfect in AZ this time of year. It was 88 here in Austin today but a cold front is moving in tonight and the high tomorrow is 60-something. Brrr! (All the people up north hate me right now).
It's a good thing the Casey boys married women like you and my mom to help fix things like the garbage disposal!
I started my training for a half-marathon today that is on 2/17/08. It'll be good for me. I better get to bed because I have an early run in the morning...but I wanted to say hi and that I'm so proud of you! Lots of love to everyone!!!
Molly
