The results of the dye test were disappointing, as the dye was trapped in pockets. They won't be able to use the IP port for any treatments. On a better note, my tumor count from last week's blood test was down again. So, after only two treatments it dropped from 1600 to 303!
My sister, Theresa, arrives on Thursday for a week. It will be good to have company from back home (and she'll be getting out of the cold snow). Mike and JP have the house all decorated, looking fabulous! We cheat a little, and light our advent wreath more than once a week with prayer and reflection. I think that's okay with Jesus.
Love and Christmas peace to all,
Maureen

Received your card yesterday and loved to see all the Casey's at Joe and Katie's wedding. What a handsome group! Glad to get your note. Hope the PJs are the right size. Make sure to exchange them if they're not. Keep your spirits up Maureen and light that Advent wreath as many times as you need to!!! Blessings, Anne

I did receive your family christmas card a mike's letter along with your note. My first reaction was shock but my first thought after that was that she will beat this. Maureen, you are so much stronger than this, maybe not in body right now, but in mind and spirit. With the help of God's loving grace and the strength of your family and friends you will prevail. I am sending many many prayers your way. I wish I was closer so we could share a big hug. Get one of those wonderful boys or Mike to give you one from me. Love and Friendship, Cynthia

Thanks for sending us your annual Christmas letter. We always enjoy the updates on the Casey family. We were quite surprised at this year's update. I literally felt the rollercoaster in Mike's analogy. Please know that you are and will be in our prayers as you go through this battle. May God bless you and your whole family. Love Patti Rada

Hi, Maureen. Wow, are you something. Can't believe you've got the Advent wreath and nativity scene already out and starting to celebrate. Audrey has been working the Advent wreath project for the church this year, so she's keeping up with you, too. God's blessing to you and keep the faith. Clint Magnussen |
Hi sisters Jacque Ingemansen
Just want you to know I am thinking about you and keeping those prayers in high gear. The kids at St. Isidore all said a prayer together yesterday that you have a good recovery from this treatment and that it continues to do its work. I hope Theresa arrived safe and sound, and that you both have a wonderful time catching up. Thank you Theresa for being there. Mike I am so sorry about your grandma, she must have been a great lady. Love to you all!

Just got your Christmas card today and what a beautiful picture from the wedding. The best part was that we were there to share the love and joy with you and your family. It was a beautiful wedding and so much fun visiting with everyone and re-connecting with family and friends. I can imagine that Katie & Joe are lonesome - but it never hurts to have those extra prayers coming from so far away - and I think that as those prayers travel all the way to Arizona that they gather some more on their way and the prayers continue to multiply. I was so happy to hear your test results on the tumor - keep it up and we will keep up the prayers from this end - continuously! Glad your sister's are taking turns visiting as that provides such healing in itself. Love to all, Paul, Judy Kludt and family.

I was thrilled (as I'm sure you were) that the chemo treatment went so well. With all of the prayers that are being said, I thought wow, I can almost visualize God's loving arms and your guardian angel helping you thru this chemo treatment. Isn't it great that those prayers are being answered in so many positive ways. I just said, Thank You God for those special blessings. Such positive news as we approach the great Christmas season. I went to church on Friday afternoon and at adoration lifted you in prayer for all that you will need and now my prayers are going, going, going. Was thinking of you and wanted to wish you a super, fabulous, positively great day! P.S. I am so happy for you that things are going so well. You are taking this journey one day at a time and God is and will continue to give you all that you need. Smile break time :) :) Blessings to you!!!! Joan, (LH - Mpls)

Do you remember me, a work acquaintance from the past? The last time we spoke, Terry Lundberg was singing “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” with the Dwebs at your MML going away party. Wow, doesn’t that image bring a smile to your face. Sorry to hear about the new challenge you are facing. I remember your strength and perseverance which I always admired about you. Stay strong Maureen and please add me to your long list of friends who will support you during these challenging time. I will never forget while discussing the frustrations of golf after one of our annual company golf tournaments, you provided the following advice; keep your down, always follow through, and have a positive attitude that you beat the course. Keep that positive attitude and beat this course. Godspeed Maureen, Steve Engel |

Maureen, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Every year we look forward to your Christmas photo. Through the years it has been fun watching your boys grow up and yet you and Mike don't change. What a beautiful family and now you have a daughter-inlaw. She is beautiful and we hope to have the opportunity to meet her in the future. When I read your letter, I must say I was in shock. This cannot be happening to you. Not this aweful, dreadful sickness, not to my friend. Then I broke down and cried and when Craig came home we both cried. Maureen you have touched so many lives and each and every one of us is praying for you. From the first time we met the impression you set was being strong, compassionate, loving, atheltic, smart, funny, cute, and the list goes on and on. I think the first time we met was at Dan Peter's party after Craig and Mike played in the Paradise Valley Country Club Golf tournament. Can't remember whose team won, but I think it was Mike's. Later I found out that we went to the same church. I have fond memories of all our fun times together playing golf, St. Bernadette's golf tournaments(you always won the women's longest drive)sporting events, parties, etc. Maureen, you are one of the stongest and nicest person I know, and I believe you will win this battle. And as you wrote on our Christmas letter you will be back to your old self and I believe that. We will be playing golf together soon and drinking Budweisers and you will be outdriving all the ladies and some men too. Maureen we love you and if there is anything you need please don't hesitate to ask. Even though we are in Casa Grande, we are not that far away. You and Mike need to come stay with us when you are feeling stronger. Maureen keep on fighting until you win! We believe you can conquer this! Love and God Bless, Craig and Nancy McFarland

My hopes and prayers are that you had such good news at the beginning of the week and that the last part of the week will be even better. I again thought and prayed for you first thing this morning as I rode the bus and asked God to bless you abundantly today. May you feel those graces each moment of the day. Although not an easy week when you have a chemo treament, you are doing it. Think of where you were a month ago and where you are today...a true blessing (even though the journey was quite challenging along the way). May the weekend bring you special time with your family. The graces from the Advent Season are giving you strength. Have a super fabulous weekend! Now it's time for the smile break :) Joan, (LH - Mpls)
Wow, Maureen, that is great news about the cell count! Wahoo! You go, girl! Okay - so there are pockets still, but ...maybe next time? We will all keep praying for your continued healing. Christ heal our dear friend Maureen. From the other posts you already know how much we all loved your Christmas card and photo -that was such a special day! The joy in everyone's hearts is SO evident on their faces. Hey, even Coach Dave commented on how gorgeous you looked in that picture! You are always in my heart, my dear friend. I speak your name daily in my prayers. Your journal of faith has been so spiritually nourishing to me. God bless you and your family! Joan B. (the other Joan you know, the FLAKEY one!)

When your Christmas card arrived in the mail today it made me very happy. Every year I look forward to hear from you and of course to look at the photo of you all. You know I adore and love your three children very much, or should I say young men now. But after reading the letter I started to cry. You know me.. I have been reading all of your updates and will continue to do so. I know you are a very strong person Maureen and will beat this. You will be in my thougts and prayers every day. I miss you all. Klem fra Anita & family in Norwa |
